Turbocharging, Supercharging & Nitrous

Superchargers and turbochargers force additional air into the engine to increase performance. The differences between turbochargers and superchargers lie within the method they use to do the job. A turbocharger is driven by exhaust gas pressure as the engine runs, whereas a supercharger is driven by the engines internal rotating assembly via a belt. It is well-known throughout the performance community that any load added to the engines rotating assembly (ie: alternator, power steering pump, etc.) will reduce horsepower. This means that the supercharger will have to overcome a loss in performance before any gains are realized. A turbocharger does not add any load to the engine, which means all performance increases will be realized 100%.

A Nitrous Oxide System (NOS) is an affordable way to add on-demand horsepower at the push of a button. Imagine flipping the switch to deliver an extra 150-horsepower to your motor! The professionals at ADS can instruct you on the benefits of each system, so you can make the best choice for your high-performance application.
